If the condom breaks or comes off during vaginal intercourse, stop having intercourse and wash up like you normally would 'DO NOT USE A DOUCHE' to try to flush the semen out of your vagina, as this will increase your risk of infection. Go to the drugstore or a GP and get some emergency contraception, aka the morning-after pill.
There are two kinds of emergency contraceptive pill. Levonelle has to be taken within 72 hours (three days) of sex, and EllaOne has to be taken within 120 hours (five days) of sex. Both pills work by preventing or delaying ovulation
(release of an egg).
